La Associación Española de Neuropsiquiatría hace la siguente declaración en contra del uso clínico y legal del llamado Síndrome de Alienación Parental.

En la opinión de la AEN las bases sobre las que se construye el "castillo en el aire" del SAP corresponden a la descripción que hace R. Gardner basándose en sus opinones personales y en autocitas
...
Con base a lo anterior la AEN concluye que el SAP tal y como lo inventó Gardner no tiene ningún fondamento científico y si entraña graves riesgos su aplicación en la corte judicial.
